About The Author
Born in New York City's Greenwich Village in the late 1950's, it was almost natural that
Lenora Gonzalez would grow up to be an artist. Her many experiences with the diverse
cultures and people of the "Big City" have had a lasting influence on her work. A former
student of Pratt Institute and Fashion Institute of Technology, Lenora is well-versed in
many mediums but is particularly fond of pastels, acrylics, pencil and charcoal. She enjoys
painting murals, portraits and decorative rocks and boxes. Her work has a strong ethnic
flavor and has twice been featured at San Diego's African American Museum of Fine Art.
Most recently, her work was showcased at San Diego's Art Walk '96. Lenora's past work
includes logo's for a jean company, a mural for a restaurant and market, advertisements,
signs for various businesses, and visual displays for department stores.
