Website for the African American
Community in San Diego
Makes its Premiere
San Diego, CA
– April 19, 2006: San Diego,
California's second largest city and the United States'
seventh largest, boasts a citywide population of nearly 1.3 million residents
and more than 2.8 million residents countywide. It is a big city with a small
town feel and is full of hidden treasures dispersed throughout a myriad of
cultural locations. While San Diego
has quite a few African Americans, they tend to be scattered and divided by
city and county lines.
In an effort
to cater to the specific interests of the large African American population in San Diego, BlackDiego.com
has been created. BlackDiego.com is a web portal designed
to allow viewers to find fun, informative and up-to-date news and links about San Diego quickly and
effortlessly. It is intended to provide residents and visitors with information
pertaining to the lifestyle and culture of African Americans.
The
BlackDiego.com website fulfills a need in San Diego--to
find, at the drop of a hat, events, businesses and news related to Blacks in San Diego. The
BlackDiego.com website includes a comprehensive listing of information, such as
business links, social and community organizations, African American churches
and restaurants, and special events. In order to cater to the young, hip hop
audience, the site includes information on San Diego entertainment such as concerts,
night clubs, new movies, and local talent. The site also includes a classifieds
section, message board and an opportunity to join its newsletter. There is no
charge to post events, classifieds, church links or business links on the
website, and advertising packages are available for those seeking maximum
exposure on the site.
“BlackDiego.com
is the ultimate African American web portal in San Diego,” says Sandra Price, its
founder and webmaster. After having founded ASAP Printing & Publishing
Company in Mission Valley over 17 years ago, Sandra is no stranger to the
diversity and distance of African Americans in San Diego. “It’s time we found
each other,” she adds, “but in order to find each other, we must
first create a common link.”
